In a report by Reuters news agency today, an Islamic terrorist group entered a major Libyan oil terminal and an airport. Port engineers and a Libyan oil source said the Benghazi Defence Brigade (BDB) entered the Es Sider oil port in Libya. The Libyan National Army stated it used air strikes and ground troops to repel the attack by the BDB. The oil terminal is operated by the Libyan National Oil Corporation but no statement was made available regarding the attack. As fighting continues, it remains unclear who controls the port. Also, the Ras Lanuf airport was taken over by the terrorist group, however it was later liberated by the Libyan National Army. According to the website, trackingterrorism.org, the BDB has a similar ideology with that of al Qaeda.
