Libya to take back Oil Fields from Terrorists

As previously reported by Reuters news agency, an Islamic terrorist group entered a Libyan oil terminal and an airport near an oil field. At the time of the reporting it was said that the terrorist group, Benghazi Defence Brigade (BDB), entered the Es Sider oil port but it was unclear at that time who had control of the port. Also, the Ras Lanuf airport was taken over by the terrorist group, however it was said that it was later liberated by the Libyan National Army. Today’s report from Reuters shows that the Es Sider oil port and another oil port in Ras Lanuf has been held by the BDB since Friday. Military factions based in eastern and western Libya have been fighting on and off for the past three years. The eastern-based Libyan National Army (LNA) carried out airstrikes today near both Ras Lanuf and Es Sider and are mobilizing ground forces. At the time of this report, 18 of the LNA’s forces have been killed and 15 wounded since Friday. According to the website, trackingterrorism.org, the BDB has a similar ideology with that of al Qaeda.
