The Associated Press reports today that British police have 10 suspects in custody for the attacks in London, England that killed four and left more than 50 wounded. The attacker, 52 year old Khalid Masood, was shot and killed by police on Wednesday after he drove his car into a crowded Westminster Bridge and stabbed Constable Keith Palmer to death. The report states that Masoon was born in 1964 in Southern England and was named Adrian Russell Ajao. Masoon had an extensive criminal record.
The AP report went on to say that 21 properties in London, Brighton, Wales, Manchester and Birmingham were searched. Counter-terror officer, Mark Rowley said they have seized more than 2,700 items and made contact with over 3,500 witnesses. The victims in the London attack included people of a dozen nationalities with more than half needing hospital treatment. There was no mention in the report of what measures London will take to protect future visitors in England’s largest city.
The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.
