AP: Not Allowing Trans to Use Bathroom of Choice Hurting NC

The Associated Press reports today that North Carolina’s “bathroom bill”, that defines access to restrooms by transgendered individuals is “limiting LGBT protections” and will cost the state $3.76 billion in lost business revenues. The report outlines how the state lost $2.66 billion due to abandoned plans for a PayPal facility to tens of thousands of dollars lost due to a cancelled Ringo Starr concert.

It was not clear in the AP report how limiting transgenders to restrooms of their biological sex affects protections of lesbians, gays and bisexuals. It was also not understood from the report how lesbians, gays and bisexuals felt about the “bathroom bill” and if they were affected by it.
