43 Killed at Coptic Church in Egypt

Reuters news agency reports today that at least 43 people were killed and over 100 injured in two separate bomb attacks against Coptic churches in Egypt. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack against the Christians as they celebrated Palm Sunday. The first bombing took place at St. George Church in the city of Tanta killing at least 78. The second attack a few hours later took place at Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Cairo killing 16 people. This latest killing underscores the increasing number of attacks against the Christian minority by Islamist militants.
