In an exclusive interview by the Associated Press, North Korea’s Vice Foreign Minister Han Song Ryol said US President Donald Trump’s administration is “more vicious and more aggressive” than that of former President Barack Obama. According to the report, Han also said they will keep building up its nuclear arsenal in “quality and quantity” and said Pyongyang is ready to go to war if that’s what Trump wants. Pyongyang is North Korea’s capital.
Although the AP report attempts to tie President Trump’s tweets to an increase of sabre rattling, no mention was made of the long history of insults waged by the hermit nation against former President Obama including comparing him to a monkey in 2014. The AP continued the report on the tirade by Han and quoted him saying, “Trump is always making provocations with his aggressive words. It’s not the DPRK but the US and [President] Trump that makes trouble.” DPRK is the acronym for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
