The Associated Press reports today that “liberal causes” make for a busy year ahead in the United States’ capital. Among other things, the report states that liberal causes include science and the arts. Although the report indicates District of Columbia officials are used to providing a space for people to rally, there seems to be a concern about the city running out of money.
It seems unlikely that unusually high security would be needed to monitor science or arts awareness marches. Instead, it would seem more plausible that increased security would be needed to contain crowds associated with breaking windows, lighting fires and assaults. It was not clear from the AP report if there is a concern for this weekend’s March for Science that is expected to draw 150,000 people.
