As reported by Reuters news agency, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan vowed to continue attacks on ethnic Kurds. Speaking at a news conference, President Erdogan said, “We do not differentiate between terrorist organizations: Daesh, YPG, Al Qaeda are all the same for us. It is our mutual responsibility to scrape away their roots.” The YPG is the US-backed Kurdish militant group responsible for saving many of the minority Yazidis from the Islamic State, known also by its Arabic acronym Daesh. The Islamic State tortured and killed Yazidis who they consider devil worshipers and use their young girls and women as sex slaves.
