Reuters news agency reports today that eight US Democratic Senators are requesting the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Environmental Protection Agency to launch an investigation into billionaire Carl Icahn’s activities in the US biofuels blending market. The Democrats accuse Icahn of violating securities trading laws since becoming an adviser to President Donald Trump. The report states Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren (MA), Sheldon Whitehouse (RI), and Sherrod Brown (OH) have signed the request. It was not understood why the other five Democratic Senators were not listed in the report.
