Reuters news agency reports today that Islamic State snipers are shooting civilians fleeing Mosul. As Iraqi forces push into the Islamic State held areas in the city, thousands of civilians are fleeing. Inside the city food and water are depleted and the renewed fighting is killing greater numbers of civilians. Now in its seventh month, the offensive has forced more than 600,000 people to leave Mosul. According to the report, more than 11,000 civilians have left in the last two days.
