Militias Capture Syria’s Largest Dam from IS

As reported by Reuters news agency, Syrian militias captured the town of Tabqa and Syria’s largest dam from Islamic State. An alliance of Kurdish and Arab fighters known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) battled the Islamic state for weeks in the town which 25 miles (40 km) west of Raqqa. SDF advisor Nasser Haj Mansour said the town and Tabqa dam are “completely liberated” from the Islamic State.
