Reuters news agency reports today that British Prime Minister Theresa May publicly denounced Monday’s suicide bomb attack that killed 22 people and injured dozens more in a crowded Manchester concert hall. The terrorist act targeted children and young people. In a statement on Downing Street, Prime Minister May said, “All acts of terrorism are cowardly. But this attack stands out for its appalling sickening cowardice, deliberately targeting innocent, defenseless children and young people who should have been enjoying one of the most memorable nights of their lives.”
British police arrested a 23 year old man in connection with the bombing. The bombing took place as crowds began leaving a concert given by Ariana Grande who seemingly attracts a large number of young and teenage fans. The Islamic State claimed the attack as revenge against “Crusaders”. The suicide bomber behind the attack has been identified as Salman Abedi.
