Violent Crime Makes Baltimore Residents Feel Unsafe

One America News Network reports that residents of Baltimore, Maryland say the recent spree of violent crime in the city has become a grave concern.

This comes after a string of robberies, shootings, and murders culminated in the killing of police detective Sean Suiter last week. Suiter was shot Wednesday in a particularly troubled area of West Baltimore while investigating a 2016 homicide and died Thursday.

Over the past several months, Baltimore’s Democrat Mayor Catherine Pugh has repeatedly admitted — quote — “violence is out of control.”

Baltimore has been ruled by Democrats since the late 1960’s, and some say the increase in violent crime stems from economic mismanagement and rampant poverty.

Many local residents say the rise in crime is unprecedented, and they no longer feel safe.

The local business community says the rise in violent crime has damaged the city’s investment appeal, and is fueling its economic and social problems.
